I was always apprehensive before going into galleries like Clarendon's because of the its high-end art status.
Invited by one of my dear Artist friends', Joe Curtis, to an exhibit by the Connor Brothers last week. I am glad I went because I found that the messaging was crude and direct, taking on social standards amongst the creative industry. They used some bad-ass one liner's. I liked 'fuck the algorithm' the most, although there is literally nothing we could do about the cognitive nature of Instagram, it is nice to humour the fact no one can beat the algorithm. I guess we have to humour the facts… these social ideals are laughable and should be laughed about.
I met one of the brothers’, James Golding, he was so pleasant and I was of course so awkward. In fact, when he asked what it was like living in north London I said “Yep same old…” instead of just blurting out “I’M AN ARTIST AND I NEED HELP WITH PUTTING TOGETHER THIS CRAZY EXHIBITION IDEA.” Or I could have asked a more artistic question. Or that. Anyway onto the next. Joe was great to have with me and we had a good laugh. I have learnt there is always new opportunities and trying is always one step closer to having a disgusting amount of confidence.
